What it measures
Triglyceride levels shift more with recent food intake than cholesterol does, which is part of why fasting before this test is often specifically requested. mg/dL is standard on Indian reports; mmol/L appears on international ones.

The Lipid Association of India treats a raised triglyceride level as a risk modifier rather than a diagnosis on its own — it changes how the rest of the lipid profile is read, and the fasting and non-fasting cutoffs differ because triglycerides move more after a meal than cholesterol does.
Reading it in a different unit
This lab reports Triglycerides in mg/dl. Reports from other labs — especially ones using European or US-style formatting — sometimes use a different unit for the same measurement. The relationship between them:
